Spatial Solutions offers extensive experience that allows your business to develop its GIS capability. We can assist you in the development of the business justification for the deployment of GIS and start to shape solutions and roadmaps for the technology that provide value in your business.

Once the business has decided to commit to a project we will either use your established project methodologies and frameworks or we are able to deploy our own framework to control delivery. Within our own framework we will define the project prior to commencement to ensure a common understanding of the deliverables and outcomes, the project organisation, the schedule for delivery including milestones and the associated resource requirements and budgets. The project is wrapped in change control to ensure changes are agreed in a controlled way and we actively manage risks and issues that arise as the project develops.

From a management perspective, project reviews will be scheduled on a regular basis reducing the demand on your executives’ valuable time and allowing you to review progress and quality of the delivery on an ongoing basis.

Your project success is very important to us so all projects are overseen and owned by a Senior member of staff who is responsible for its smooth delivery.

The CARE Approach

Spatial Solutions provide project management services through the application of its own project management framework, CARE Project Management Framework. The CARE framework has been developed by Spatial Solutions and is a derivative of the PRINCE2 project management system. The CARE framework is outlined below (click for a larger image).

The CARE framework can be applied to any project with the project size and complexity determining what project processes and controls are required.

Concept

The Concept phase covers the project start up, establishing the mandate and business case for the project. It also includes the project brief and financial plan along with set up of the risk and issue logs to be maintained throughout the life of the project.

Approach

The Approach phase covers the project initiation and planning activities. This phase includes creating a project initiation document, product logs, product descriptions, product breakdown structure, project plan and high level design. The financial plan, risk and issue logs are reviewed and updated.

Realise

The Realise phase covers the project delivery activities. This phase includes stage planning, delivery of work packages, highlight and exception reporting and change requests. The project plan, risk and issue logs are reviewed and updated.

Exit

The Exit phase covers the project closure activities. This includes post project review and the project closedown report.
